A forum is an important part of any fansite. The fourm alows the fans a chance to talk about a topic is greater detail rather than using a comment, it also lets fans role play, overall a forum is a really get way for fans of a fandom to get to talk about their favorite show.
And as you said back when Winx 4 Life got it's twitter that "I think a personal approach, such as forums and fanfic archives is much more productive because the communities are much active."
Do you think that you have a big enough fanbase for a forum? I really don't where all the fans are. I don't see dozens of comments coming in per post, nor do I see that Halloween contest going anywhere, if you remember it.
The site is doing well, we are getting a lot of hits, our twitter has a nice little number of followers and the facebook page is very well. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how many fans there are; all that matters is that we (the writers) get to share our love of Winx with others whom are fans.
There are a lot of Winx fansites, and some don't get a lot of comments. But that doesn't mean that they aren't doing well. Some fans don't comment; just read.
And on top of that, the site isn't even a year old yet. Things take time, after all Rome wasn't build in a day. It took a while for it to become a great place.
Yes, going to the other forums and on fanfiction.net are major places, that I take part in. But that doesn't mean we here at Winx 4 Life can't make our own forum.
Yes Kikurukina, there hasn't been much of a change regarding the new forum. However I must keep in mind that it is still new and we are in the hoilday season. Meaning many people are away visting family, or are busy perparing for family to arrive and so on, so it is to be excected that it will be slow; considering the time of year.
But thank you for asking, it is nice to know that someone cares.
Might I ask why you got a forum?

ReplyDeleteBy the way, you took my words out of context. I meant go to other people's forums and the Fanfiction.net archives, not make your own forum.

I'm not saying you shouldn't. I am just concerned if there will be enough of interest to compensate for the effort put into it.
ReplyDeleteThats nice of you Kikurukina Bal Des'cagel :)
ReplyDeleteThank You Kikurukina Bal Des'cagel.
